ISO/IEC 17020:2012

ISO/IEC 17020 is the international standard that specifies the requirements for organizations that perform inspections and for the impartiality and consistency of their inspection activities. These inspections can be for materials, products, installations, processes or services. Organizations looking to become accredited to ISO/IEC 17020 are categorized into Type A, B, or C and the classification is based on the scope of accreditation (not a hierarchy).
