The Value of ISO 17025:2017

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 Testing and Calibration Laboratories

ISO/IEC 17025:2017 is the international standard for the requirements for organizations that perform testing, sampling and calibration services. The requirements address their ability to provide valid and reliable results from those services. An organization may become accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 whether they are private- or government-owned and regardless of size. It can also be used by universities, research centers, governments, regulators, inspection bodies and product certification organizations.

Accreditation to ISO /IEC 17025:2017 is important to world trade because it:

  • Helps to standardize procedures for testing, sampling, and calibration services across borders

  • Creates cooperation between organizations and other companies, bodies, associations, etc.

  • Promotes the acceptance of results between countries.

The latest version of the standard covers technical changes, vocabulary and developments in IT techniques, while taking into consideration the latest version of ISO 9001

Why become accredited to ISO/IEC 17025?

  • Your organization becomes more efficient by having a systematic approach that helps reduce costs and improves your testing environment.

  • Provides a competitive advantage compared to organizations that are not accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.

  • Improves customer satisfaction by demonstrating that the results you provide are consistent, valid and more widely accepted by different countries and organizations.
